I've been doing a lot of reflecting on this past year lately, and I can definitely say that one of my standout favorite parts of 2017 was the workshops I started hosting! I love working with my clients so much, helping them have those a-ha moments for their personal style, and there's something so special about bringing that energy to a group setting. Having a room full of people with different personalities and senses of style creates a unique learning environment that you don't often get when it comes to fashion. One where we can all feed off each other's individuality, and see living examples of how no two people (or styles) are the same. I'm so happy that this year was finally the year I got over some of the fears I always had about doing them (such as, "what if no one shows up?") and made it happen. I hosted several workshops here in LA, teaching about how to find your essence, and how your style can serve you in achieving your deepest desires. The feedback has been so positive, and I'm beyond excited keep them going in 2018. So, that's why I'm kicking off the year with not one but two workshops in January! The first is shaking things up a bit. I'm taking the workshop ON THE ROAD to somewhere brand new to me: Blue Bell Farm, just outside of Columbia, MO! I learned about this gorgeous place from one of my best friends who lives there, and was all heart eyes when I saw that not only is it the dreamiest setting, but that they couldn't be a more perfect match for The Life Styled and Fashion Feng Shui! They actually host element themed farm-to-table dinners, with everything from the cocktails, food, to the table decor inspired by one of the five elements! I know! Needless to say, I'm dying to grab a seat at that table and just had to find a way to collaborate with them! So, I'm teaming up with Blue Bell Farm to host the ultimate INTENTION SETTING workshop with Fashion Feng Shui on January 20th, and we are offering a holiday discount ($50 off!) to those who grab their tickets before the 23rd!

In this intimate and cozy workshop, you will learn a whole new way of looking at your closet and how to make decisions without any doubt in your mind that what you're wearing and buying is right for YOU. We will be focusing on the five elements, how you can use them to settle into your own defined personal style, and how your wardrobe can help you reach all your goals in 2018. We will be starting the year off with a bang and a killer closet that does nothing but excite us and help us be our best selves. All of the details and a link to get tickets are HERE. So if you're in the area, grab a friend and make it a girls' day! This would make the perfect Christmas gift for your gal pals, or something fun to ask Santa for. Can't wait to sip wine and enjoy elemental farm-to-table goodness together after the workshop too. It's sure to be a day to remember!

If you are in LA, not to worry! A local intention setting workshop is in the works for January. Details for that coming soon! If you're interested in attending, leave a comment below and tell me: do you prefer a weekend or a weekday evening?

Accessories for the 5 Elements

I have been getting some requests for more Fashion Feng Shui tips, which is music to my ears! I'm so glad that you guys have been finding it interesting as it's something I whole heartedly believe in (if you don't know what I'm talking about, check out all the previous posts on the subject here). I've had a lot of ideas floating around in my head and couldn't quite decide where to start. But obviously I love nothing more than talking about the five elements, and there's a never ending amount of info to share. So today I thought it would be fun to focus on one must have accessory for each essence. These are pieces you could add if you know which element is your essence and you'll probably reach for them a lot. On the contrary, you can also add any one of these things to your wardrobe to incorporate that element as an intention.

If you have any requests of types of Fashion Feng Shui info that you want to see on here, let me know and I will do it! I'm gearing up for my next workshop on August 12th too. Grab a friend and join me! It's such a great way to learn about yourself in a deeper way than you have before, and how to create a style that honors your authentic self. Plus you'll make a few new friends in the process! It's just all around holistic, girly fun.

I love this accessory to bring wood energy to any outfit. It's not something that everyone has, but if you're a wood it's a perfect way to show off your go-getter energy. I especially love the blank Flexfit hats they sell at Lids which are fitted yet elastic so they're comfy and wont smash your hair down too much. White, black, or navy will bring a sporty yet not too casual look to any outfit. Love!

Or fringe anything. It's such a cool way to add some flow to your outfit. Leather fringe has some fiery vibes too because of the leather, but in black or another dark tone, it has the perfect boho, moody edge that works so well for water. Plus it can be added to pretty much any outfit and instantly bring the look over to the philosopher realm.

Whenever I'm feeling sassy, or like I need some extra attention, I reach for cat eye glasses. They look good on everyone, and definitely send the message that you're not to be ignored. The words that come to mind are: starlet and playful, two things any fire will feel right at home with.

What I love about earth accessories is that they always give off feelings of comfort, function, and nurture. A big tote like this is what you grab to pick up a few groceries for the fam, head to the farmers market on a Sunday, or pack up for a picnic. It welcomes it all like a warm hug, just like an earth would.

While each of the five elements have certain colors associated with them, the metal tie to white is such a strong partnership. It's pure yet icy at the same time. You don't often see white jewelry or shoes, but that's why I think it's the perfect way to add a pop of metal to any outfit. This particular necklace is made of white leather wrapped around metal, so it's nice and heavy. I can wear it over just about any outfit and it instantly brings a strong metal statement to my look.

Workshop Recap

A few weeks ago I hosted my first official open-to-the-public Fashion Feng Shui workshop here in LA! Starting this series was one of my number one goals for 2017 and I can honestly say that it feels so good to finally be actively doing them. I would do one every week if I could! I have always thought that Fashion Feng Shui would thrive in a group setting because what better way to learn something new about yourself than in the company of others who are doing the same? This group of women inspired me so much with their openness to share and learn, and lift each other up in gaining this new understanding of their own personality and ideal sense of style. WMN Space provided the perfect setting, where we could feel totally relaxed and nurtured. Tasty organic/vegan/gluten free baked goods by To Bake and Be and cold pressed juices by Juice Served Here kept us nourished and happy. I asked the attendees come to the workshop with a few items of clothing from their wardrobes which were so fun to examine and discuss why each item is working or not working for everyone based on their specific elements. Each time I teach one of these workshops I am finding new ways to make them better, and I am so excited to share that my next one is already set and coming up soon! So if you missed out on this one, mark your calendar for August 12th and register here! I can't wait to do it all again. Hope to see you there!
