For the most part, May in LA is well past sweater weather, but a few overcast windy days still sneak up on us here and there. I don't mind it, especially since it gives me a chance to cozy up with this tribal print knit number - a new addition to my wardrobe that has unexpectedly come in handy lately for early morning dog walks and cold plane rides. The high contrast design gives it a bit of extra oomph and when mixed with fringey cutoffs, it becomes perfectly appropriate for cooler spring days. These biker boots are another winter gone summer staple, which I was actually compelled to buy last fall because of the inspiration to wear them with shorts. They took me through the colder months with skinny jeans but they're ready to take on their originally intended identity. I love spring fashion because it's a chance to  get creative with your clothes and think of your seasonal pieces in a different light, before it's time to pack winter away and fully immerse yourself into summer.

Black Leather Jackets

I might go out on a limb and say that my leather biker jackets are my most reliable wardrobe staples. Clients often ask me to help them find the perfect moto jacket and who can blame them for wanting one? After all, it's definitely the single most wearable piece for the girl who likes a bit of a classic edge. I say classic because even though it's undeniably current and chic, this trend goes way back - think Grease and Rebel Without a Cause. Therefore, if you've been thinking of adding one of these gems to your wardrobe, it's worth a bit of a splurge (along with anything else you'll wear everyday). And splurge you will. By nature, a well made all-leather jacket is definitely pricey, and for one with an impeccable fit and good quality leather, you're looking at spending upwards of $800. BUT there's hope for all. These jackets are usually a part of fall collections, which means this is the time of year when they all go on sale. Today I've found some awesome buys in the leather jacket realm for those of you who've been considering taking the plunge. Some are by top designers miraculously marked down right now (like 50-70% off), or a few good finds that are very reasonable at full price. The best part is there's still a good month left to wear these babies, but your upcoming fall wardrobe will be extra excited when it's time to bring it out. Go now before they're gone!

Taking a motorcycle ride has been on my bucket list for years, but the right opportunity hasn't quite presented itself. A large portion of my wardrobe might imply something on the contrary, but my collection of biker boots and jackets is purely for badass inspiration. I expect that someday the time will be right to hop on a bike, but in the meantime I figure there's nothing wrong with planning the perfect outfit for when it does. Sturgis, anyone?
