Something to Behold

It's something we've all thought about but never dreamed it would really happen. Well, it did. Anthropologie has graced the girly world with a wedding line, and let me just say that we are glad they did. BHLDN (pronounced "beholden") carries everything you love about Anthro - unique, worldly, feminine pieces that allow you to take a whimsical style idea and run with it to a faraway dreamland. I love how nothing feels repetitive or redundant - even the party/bridesmaids dresses each have their very own identity and look like they came from the best Anthro archives. We especially love the accessories - obsession worthy for every bride and non-bride. The glovesundergarments, and hair accessories have all made the wish list. You'll even find some exclusive ban.do shoe clips and hair treats!

Uninspired in Your Home Office? Have a Drink

Home improvement projects can feel like a never ending process, but there are always fun little touches you can add to really bring a room to life. Inspired once again by Mad Men, I made a small yet impactful addition to the home office... what else? A bar!

Tiffany & Co. decanter, CB2 shaker, Alessi spoon, Anthropologie bowl, Williams Sonoma glasses and cocktail napkin, West Elm tray{}

I'm not a whiskey or a scotch drinker, so I filled the lovely decanter (a wedding shower gift from my dear friend) with Grey Goose. While I may not be pouring myself  a plentiful serving on the rocks at 1pm like Don Draper, it's fun to enjoy a cocktail in the office at the end of a work day with the hubby or girlfriends. {}

CB2 credenza, Ikea lamp and file cabinet, West Elm desk and chair, home made memo board

Aside from a nice drink now and then, the other key to a successful business is good organization. This modern credenza from CB2 houses unsightly items like the printer, and provides the perfect excuse to buy lots of fun storage boxes. They will serve a satisfying purpose and provide a nice treat every time you slide the doors open.{}

Metal + Earth

Charlotte's the girl we can always count on to be loyal, nurturing, proper, and classy. Her Metal makes her the queen of all things elegant, while her underlying Earth contributes to her motherly, traditional, and domestic tendencies. We love her for the squeaky clean all-American girl that she is, and her perfect wardrobe to match. You'll always see Charlotte in pieces that are delightfully easy on the eye with no surprises, in recognizable styles reminiscent of the idyllic 50's.

Charlotte's Rules to Style

1. Always make sure your outfit ties together through one repeating color.

2. If it would attract judging stares on the upper east side, do not wear it.

3. A classic a-line dress is suitable for any occasion.

4. Bows, polka dots, and florals are your best friends.

5. When vacationing in Mexico, do not drink the water... and always have a backup outfit on hand.

At the Movies

If Charlotte were seeing Sex and the City 2 this Friday, she'd likely don a cutesy casual (well, casual by her definition) frock like this one by Alice + Olivia. She might wear flats to stay comfy, but they'd have to be sufficiently feminine and graceful. Most importantly, Charlotte would be sure to bring her hanky for the inevitable waterworks during the film's most touching moments.
